Need for the workshop
The ability of a project to effectively deliver on expected outcomes is dependent on the integrity of its design, the environment in which it is being implemented and the presence of relevant skills of its management.
This 4 day intensive and highly interactive training workshops equips project team leaders with the latest skills, tools and insights in current day practice of the management and participatory assessments monitoring and evaluation of developments programs.
Course Objectives
By the end of the workshop, the participant should clearly demonstrate appreciation of each one of the following competencies:
- Correctly identify various sources of project funding and ways of accessing such funding
- Create a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for a project
- Correctly apply a network diagram to display a Project Evaluation and Review Technique, (PERT) chart.
- Use the Critical Path Method (CPM), in the network diagram to ensure the correct project duration.
- Estimate and schedule project tasks.
- Apply resources to a project plan.
- Correctly identify the different personality types and learn how they affect project management.
- Apply time-tested tools and techniques to actual project management processes
- Correctly identify various communication channels during project implementation.
- Use a negotiation model to enhance common understanding, accountability and process ownership
- Correctly identify effective project manager characteristics
- Correctly identify the types and role of stakeholders and processes of stakeholder mapping
- Understand key aspects of project design, planning, implementation, administration and Monitoring and Evaluation
- Identity the role of stakeholders in monitoring and evaluation of projects
- Identify various approaches to participatory assessments of development program
- Understand ways to design, implement, monitor and evaluate projects
- Educate Learners on how to link a logical framework and translate it into a concise and transparent budget and a simple work plan
- Understand best practices techniques for project management, Monitoring and Evaluation
- To strengthen skills among project teams to apply the LFA process in the creation and implementation of effective and sustainable projects

Seminar Methodology
